Dating Preferences by Body Type

A review of 5,810 YAHOO.com heterosexual Internet dating profiles showed that race-ethnicity and gender influence body type preferences for dates. White males overall were significantly more likely than non-white males to prefer to date thin and muscularly toned women, while African-American and Latino males were significantly more likely than white males to prefer female dates with thicker or larger bodies (Sex Roles 2009; 61:14).
