Q: Is there an ideal time to exercise?
A: The best time of day to exercise is whenever it is most convenient for you. Many people (myself included) find they need to exercise at the beginning of their day to exercise on a consistent basis. Others enjoy the energy increase they get after exercising mid day on their lunch hour, maybe with a friend at the gym or on a walk at a nearby park. Whatever time of day helps you to establish a regular exercise routine is the right time for you.
Studies have found time of day is not a factor in receiving the many health benefits of exercise. If you have trouble falling asleep at night, it is best to exercise a few hours before bedtime, as exercise lowers your body temperature and helps to prepare the body for sleep.
