What's Eating You A Workbook for Teens Who Have Problems With Food |
What's Eating You? by Tammy Nelson, MS is an easy-to-use, self-paced workbook written for teens with anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. It uses age-appropriate language and exercises to help adolescent girls begin their exploration of disordered eating and body image. The exercises are non-threatening as well as a fun way to educate this highly special-needs population about how unrealistic body image ideals can affect self-confidence and promote unhealthy eating and exercising behaviors.
This workbook addresses family dysfunction, communication, expressing feelings and needs, and perfectionism. It also teaches alternative behaviors to disordered eating, such as relaxation to manage stress and using affirmations. Importantly, it directs girls to share their insights with friends and trusted adults, and educates about what types of symptoms may require professional help.
